New England Economic Development Services, Inc. is, and has been, the contracted local point of contact for management of the Rhode Island Enterprise Zone Program in the northern Rhode Island communities of Cumberland, Lincoln, Pawtucket and Woonsocket, since inception of the program in 1993. The Rhode Island Enterprise Zone Program offers State tax credits, which can be used by Enterprise Zone businesses to reduce their corporate income tax liability. Tax credits are earned by creating full-time jobs for Rhode Island residents. Geography for the Rhode Island Enterprise Zone Program is defined by federally designated Census Tracts, and eligibility for membership in the program is address specific. Eligibility for participation in the program should be confirmed with local points of contact.
